DR. RAJVIR PRATAP SHARMA, IPS,
ADGP AND MANAGING DIRECTOR
" KSHDC is popularly known as ‘Cauvery’ and is also branded as ‘Cauvery.’ It has been a pioneer institution in the field of Handicrafts for more than five decades. It traces its origin from the days of Mysore Royalty in the year 1915, and it was formally incorporated in the year 1964.
Conceptually, it had never been a trading organization other than promoter of Arts & Handicrafts.
The various awards in the field of Handicrafts at the National level are the product patronage of KSHDC.
Earnest efforts to protect the different disciplines of handicrafts of Karnataka is the bottom line and from there its peak is reflected in the form of 12 craft centers; 10 empowerments and more than 2800 artisans registered with the corporation.
The peak is being further elevated with the new projects of captive sandalwood production under the project, “Chandanavana”.
The production skills of the artisans are demonstrated through live showrooms at all craft centers. This generates zero tolerance for inequality or imperfection.
The faith and patronage received by Cauvery is a demonstration of sublime efforts by its employees and artisans. We owe to pursue this patronage relentlessly."
